The Supper Club
January 5, 2009
One recent evening, I was talking with my friend Kate about healthy eating strategies and favorite recipes. When we realized we were both cooking the same meals, we thought: why duplicate our efforts? Let's have a supper club!
We soon decided that simple was better: Once a month, six or eight of us will get together at somebody's house. We'll divide the menu, keep it informal and fun.
I'm here to report that the first meeting was a great success. The seven of us who were at our house all happen to be old friends, but it could have worked with a couple of new friends as well. We split the work, and had a bit of a festive evening in the middle of the week. Everyone came on time, and helped with the clean-up when we were done.
Nothing earth-shattering. Just a relaxed way to spend some time with friends, and have a meal that was better than any of us would have made on our own.
