Apple Chiffon Cake

Ingredients
- CAKE
- Crisco® Original No-Stick Cooking Spray
- 1/3 cup Crisco® Pure Vegetable Oil
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 3/4 cup Pillsbury BEST® All Purpose Flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 cup finely chopped, peeled apple
- TOPPING
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 3 tablespoons finely chopped walnuts
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Preparation Directions
1. HEAT oven to 350ºF. Spray an 8x8-inch baking pan with no-stick cooking spray.
2. BEAT oil, sugar and eggs in bowl with electric mixer at medium speed until well combined. Combine remaining cake ingredients except apples in small bowl. Add to oil mixture. Beat just until blended. Stir in apples. Spread evenly in prepared pan.
3. MIX together sugar, nuts and cinnamon. Sprinkle evenly over batter.
4. BAKE 30 minutes or until wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool slightly. Serve warm or at room temperature.
